AREAS VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Participant Safety & Wellness Support
Help our outreach team look out for the safety and well-being of individuals we encounter in the community. Volunteers may help observe for signs that someone is experiencing a medical or safety concern, carry Narcan during outreach, and help connect individuals to emergency medical services or other appropriate resources when needed. This role is about being present, aware, compassionate, and prepared to respond when someone needs help.

Social Media & Outreach Awareness
Help spread the word about New Life Forward and the people we are serving through our community outreach. Volunteers may help share outreach updates, resource information, volunteer opportunities, donation needs, and stories that help raise awareness about the needs of individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, reentry, and other challenges. Volunteers can also help capture appropriate outreach content with permission.

Prayer & Intercession
Join our outreach team in offering prayer and encouragement to individuals who welcome it. Volunteers may pray with people we encounter, pray for individuals and families in difficult circumstances, and support the outreach team through ongoing prayer. This role is about offering compassion, hope, encouragement, and spiritual support without judgment.

Security & Safety
Help our outreach team maintain a safe environment while we are out in the community. Volunteers may help remain aware of the surrounding area, identify potential safety concerns, stay with other outreach volunteers, and notify outreach leadership if a situation requires additional assistance. The goal is to help everyone involved in outreach feel safe and supported.

Blessing Bag Preparation
Help prepare blessing bags that our outreach team can distribute to individuals experiencing homelessness or other difficult circumstances. Volunteers may organize donated supplies, pack hygiene items, snacks, water, clothing, resource information, and other helpful items. This role allows volunteers to contribute directly to outreach even when they are not able to go into the community.

Clothing & Food Bank Pickups
Help collect donated clothing, food, hygiene products, and other essential supplies from community partners and donation locations. Volunteers may pick up donations, transport them to the appropriate location, organize supplies, and help make sure needed items are available for our outreach team to distribute to people in the community.

Community Resource Outreach
Help our team connect people we encounter with resources that may help them move forward. Volunteers may help identify what someone needs, provide information about available resources, and connect individuals with organizations that can assist with housing, employment, food, healthcare, substance use recovery, reentry, and other needs. Volunteers are not expected to solve someone's situation themselves — the goal is to help make sure people know they are not alone and connect them with the appropriate support.
